News for November

Pursuant to our News last month, here are the next two castings in our present commission: Stymie Medium & Italic, 18 point. The first is loaded with both alternate and accented characters (and even some accented alternates). The Italic also has a couple of alternates and specials. A mere ten fonts have been cast over and above the order, so now’s your chance, and we’re not likely to cast these again. The fifth and last variant of Stymie in the said commission is now in production and will be released for December.

Restocked and available once more: ornamental Collection No. 18 and the 19th century Motto (one of our best sellers; we have now produced 400 fonts of it to date).

This News release wasn’t posted at the crack of dawn as usual (we keep an early schedule at Skyline) because just this morning we finished the month-long task of moving a huge new type acquisition into our warehouse. It’s a private collection of an estimated 1,000 cases, plus over 500 galleys of standing forms and fonts. This pretty much doubles our previous holdings, and half the work has been consolidating and reorganizing the warehouse to make room for it (and bringing in two more 20-foot cargo containers). Contents of this deal range from type in ancient falling-apart cases, loaded with a hundred years of dust, to new fonts still in the package. Getting this all inventoried, evaluated and prepped will be yet another lifetime project—but it’s all slated to be listed for sale on the Junk Bin page on our web site as we are able. Come on by for a visit and you can help us sort it out.
