Domestic (USA)

Any order, anywhere in the USA, ships for a flat $10.00 postage charge.

We like to keep it simple and make it easy for you to buy type. Domestic orders ship using U.S. Postal Service Flat Rate Boxes—and we pack ’em bomb-proof, just look at the Testimonials page for some fun customer feedback.  On all but the smallest orders, actual postage is more than we charge you, but we absorb the added cost. This also works in your favor as a quantity discount. The bigger your order, the more postage we pay and you don’t!

International

Skyline has many overseas customers and we can easily ship type anywhere in the world.  It’s costly, but that’s just a fact of life.

There are several modes to get a parcel of type to you. One is for you to use a freight forwarder with a U.S. shipping address. (Skyline’s flat domestic postage will apply.) This is a good way to go, but use caution to check the reviews and reputation before selecting a company—there are some that should be avoided.

Another mode we use is the U.S. Postal Service’s International Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box. This has a weight limit of 20 lbs, allowing a type payload of 18½ lbs. There is also a Small Flat Rate Box at lower postage, with a weight limit of 4 lbs, that can accommodate some single items. We have had good reliability with USPS for shipping to the far east and down under.

UPDATE: In their price increase of January 22, 2023, the U.S. Postal Service has sharply raised the price of shipping a MFRB to certain destinations (e.g., Japan now $96.40.) We have switched to using private carriers for overseas orders. Postage is according to weight, and there is no maximum as with the MFRB.

For those countries which have Customs fees, including Korea, UK and Australia, we make every effort to minimize the declared value.  Contents are described as “Book Printing Type”.  We understand that this is a non-taxable item for import into the UK, but Customs has still taxed some shipments, and even returned them to sender for reasons we were not able to determine.

On the Skyline site you can use the Cart to assemble your order. Add and remove items as you wish, and the total net weight will be displayed at the bottom of the page. (No total is shown on the Wish List, unfortunately.) Because we ship by various modes, the Skyline web site cannot accurately calculate postage when you place an overseas order. International customers may send us an email with your want list. We’ll get a freight quote and send you a pro forma invoice for final approval. Easy!
